Shelter on farms: benefits of fodder shrubs & trees – Canowindra NSW
Join ANU, Mid Lachlan Landcare and Achieve Ag Consultancy for a practical and informative morning looking at fodder shrubs and shelter, including:
- What is the nutritional value of saltbush?
- How to establish saltbush
The property has several salt bush sites and shelterbelts established since 1992.
- Sustainable Farms ecologist Dan Florance will discuss the local research that has been undertaken on tree plantings in the area and the biodiversity and productivity benefits of these.
- Mid Lachlan Landcare will be on hand to discuss the new Superb Parrot project and what it will hope to achieve in the area.
- Wendy Gill from Achieve Ag Consultancy will explore the grazing and productivity benefits of fodder shrubs such as saltbush.
Please remember to bring a hat, closed-in shoes, water and a jacket. Also please BYO chair. We will meet at the shed on arrival – look out for signs
