Shelter your farm field day – Whorouly South VIC
Join us at a farm field day to discuss the many benefits of native vegetation on farms and how to maximise the values of shelterbelts and remnant vegetation.
- Visit the mixed farming property of Tim Walpole to see the results of 30 years of protecting and planting native vegetation.
- Ecologists from ANU Sustainable Farms will discuss research from 20 years of ecological monitoring on farms and how to maximise the habitat values of shelterbelts and remnants for biodiversity.
- Kylie Macreadie, Land Management Extension Officer with Agriculture Victoria, will explore how shelterbelts create shade and windbreaks and how this can benefit crops, pastures, and livestock.
Registration is essential. Please bring a drink bottle, hat, and wear closed-in shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Lunch provided.
